I'll be helping Arch in his work for a while later this summer. I have a lot of work to do to get the house and gardens ready for that.
I'm finding that in this climate, a garden is a very dynamic thing. One thing is planted, it provides food for a while, then phases itself out and something else is planted in its place. It's a constantly changing thing.
Right now, the lettuce, green onions, and chard are still bearing. The New Zealand spinach is small but growing, as are the eggplant plants. Some of the tomatoes and peppers have fruits on them but they're not ripe yet. The cucumber and watermelon plants are still very small. I still have a ton of things left to plant.
I'm seeing a lot of little froggies and toads, but so far, no anoles. I was wondering why I haven't seen any rabbits since we moved to this neighborhood. One of our neighbors said that it's probably because of the foxes that live in the woods around the neighborhood. I don't mind that at all, I supppose. Rabbits would eat my garden.
