As you can see, we've got the new board now, and I imagine there might be some questions about how to use it and/or discussion about things you like,
don't like, things you'd like to change, problems using the board.
If you've got anything like that, you can put it here, and I'll do my best to do what's needed.

What size are our Avatars suppose to be? Most of them look too big and grainy.

No problem.
One cool thing about the new board... our posts wont' drop off the edge of the forum when it gets too full any more. We'll be able to store as much stuff as we want to now. And it'll be a lot easier to search for stuff now, too.

Avatar size is 100 x 100 pixels. We can't change that. But if you want your image to appear smaller, you can photoshop a smaller version onto a white
background (or whatever color you want) that is 100 x 100 pixels, and the image itself will appear smaller. I did something like that in a forum I posted to a
few times a while back and it worked pretty well.
If you want to make changes to your avatar, you'll need to save the image you want to use to your computer, and then upload it to your profile from there. You can do that by going into your profile and clicking on the place where the avatar is displayed, then using the window that pops up to upload the image from your computer.

For some reason, in everyone's profile, the location is showing as Wilmington, NC, US. Now, if y'all are really here, I think we should all get together and have a big old pickin' party (or squeezin' party for some  ).

I've noticed that the avatars look a bit clearer if you upload the image directly from your computer to this site, rather than linking to the picture in a
separate website.

A lot of the boards are having a problem in which the only thing that shows is a blank (white) page when people try to access them. We had that for a little
while this evening. I posted a notice in the help forum and it seems to have been corrected pretty quickly.
I'm hoping this doesn't happen any more, or if it does, that it won't happen very often. I'll try to check in here from time to time throughout the day to make sure everything is ok, but there may be some times when nobody will be able to get in. If that happens, just keep checking back until you can get in. |
