And remember the strat body? Had some finish problems due to what I believe was silicone migration. It's down to wood now(almost, gotta finish stripping the back and part of the sides). I plan to make a new neck for it, as well as put a royal blue finish on it and load it up with humbuckers in a white or pearloid guard and either a wilkinson or hipshot tremolo. As soon as I start the neck build, I'll post my progress from the beginning if there is interest.
Also, I'm refinishing this for a friend.
It's an older hand built. No name on the headstock other than a brass plaque that says it was "custom built for.." and gives the name of the
owner. The top is some type of plywood(go figger), but the back is hardwood. Best guess ash or poplar. It's heavy, so if I had to guess I'd say ash,
but it'd take someone with more wood knowledge than me to say for sure. Here is a pic before I finished stripping it.
Someone had spray bombed it black, with white stripes sort of like Eddie Van Halen's 80's Kramer, but they'd done such a horrendous job that there
was so much crap stuck to the finish you could've used the guitar for sandpaper. When finished it will be Ivory just like the bass, and the w/b/w
binding/purfling will be visible, instead of painted over. I'll keep you up to date as I go if there's interest. Thanks for looking.
