It's Certainly The Rain
The forecaster says it hasn't rained in a while
And I can feel the satire fill the air
Because your eyes are red and inflamed
Such a shame the heaviness in the way you take the words
And its certainly been raining over here
These things are often clearer behind the lines
I can't write you down and that's not at all
For a lack of trying, something so real
Can't find a place to hide in my own song
The people say it's crazy that they haven't seen the rain
If we don't get some, we gonna have to take some time
To figure out a compromise, and I guess they wouldn't know
That the rain is in your eyes and it's certainly raining tonight
The way these whispered words like to calm
They can sometimes hurt just to be heard
To speak is to hold a knife, be careful with it this time
I don't want to have to cry myself to sleep anymore
So I'm sorry to say but I don't need the rain
I don't want to have to deal with all this pain
That comes along, as I'm singing this song
The forecaster doesn't know me at all
'Cause it's certainly raining here
Oh and that's so clear that our eyes hold the tears
Our rain can fall, but no one knows or even cares at all
Just thought you should know this is the way things go
The planets don't align this much I've figured out with time
And when the rain does fall, I'm hoping I can hide within the walls
Between my song and the words haunt every breath I breathe
So the forecast must be wrong
My eyes have swelled up as I watch you fall
I don't know why they can't see
That it's certainly been raining after all
The forecaster says it hasn't rained in a while
And I can feel the satire fill the air
Because your eyes are red and inflamed
Such a shame the heaviness in the way you take the words
And its certainly been raining over here
