General Discussion<---This is a Catagory. The three below are Forums Talk, Talk, Talk Unmoderated Discussion Forum Business Writing<---This is a Catagory. The four below are forums. Prose Poetry Songwriting Writing-General Discussion Guitar Workshops<---This is a Catagory. The three below are forums. Jazzalta's Magic Fingers Shop Recording Techniques On-Stage Techniques General Information<---This is a Catagory. The two below are Forums. Gigs & Gatherings Trading Post headache

Are you sure you want your motion to be quite so specific? The way you have it now, people either have to support in toto, or reject it in toto. If anyone has a problem with only a part of your suggestion, they might be inclined to reject it altogether. If you make your motion to be just whether or not to revamp, and then as a part of the discussion after the motion is seconded, you offer your suggestions as a part of the discussion, you might increase the amount of support you get for your ideas.

I am only suggesting the order and naming of the individual catagories and forums to give an idea of another way to structure them so people know what I have in mind when I say revamping the structure here. Having said that, I also have to say that the membership deserves credit for most of the changes we've made to the forum so far. This forum belongs to the members, and my job is simply to facilitate what the members want this forum to be. I'll give this thread another day or two, and if nobody has any more input or ideas, or any questions after that time, we'll bring headache's ideas to a vote. If we get other ideas, we will vote for a choice between the different ideas, or for no change to the structure. If we don't get any other ideas, the vote will be yes or no on headache's proposal as he worded it.

I can't change the names of categories, only create new ones (or delete existing ones, if all of the forums in a category are deleted). I can't move a forum in its entirety - I can only move individual threads. What this means for implementing the proposal is that in order to change the name of the Discussion Areas category to General Discussion, I would have to create a new category and move all of the threads currently in the main TTT forum (this forum) into a new TTT forum individually. This would be an immense task, and one I don't have time for right now, so I'm going to leave the name of the general dissusion section as it is, and move all of the forum business threads into a new forum business forum that I have created there. Everything else I think I can do exactly according to the proposal.
