I made my motion in the context of sprucing up the forum, specifically, by getting rid of old, unused and unwarranted forums, and replacing them with new, useful, up-to-date forums, such as to one that jazzalta has posited.

If we keep the performing and announcement forums, then we should at least cull the old and outdated material. Such leftover trash laying around gives a lifeless picture of the forum and seems to actually stifle new posting in those forums.

Renaming..Hmmmm, that is not a bad idea, for the most part; however, the two I most see absolutely no need for are the "Best of..." forum, and the "Therapeutic..." music forum. The former has only four posts, all self-serving to one former poster, whose nym should only live in infamy, here, and all irrelevant to this present day forum, and the latter I, personally, never saw the value in anyway.

I would be for keeping the others, but renaming them to something that fits our group personality, and this only if we get rid of the "ghosts", as Mike aptly puts it, which entails deleting all the old posts and the old posters, and get some closure from the ordeal we were put through by the arrogance of the hole people.

I don't want to have to explain the presence of those nyms to any new posters, and I'm sure you all would rather I didn't, either; seeing as how I would do so without regards to being "politically correct" or "magnanimously all-forgiving", as some of you seem to manage to be, or at least, appear to be. I have no intention of ever acknowledging what they did as anything more or less than what it was. And it wasn't pretty, unless you wish to use an oxymoron like, pretty disgusting.

Time makes all things more clear. Kahlil Gibran once posited, in his famous book of philosophy, The Prophet, the following in regards to friends:

I believe this is true. But the operative word is "may". You see, if there is nothing about the person that you really care for, or if there are things they have done which merit no affection, that, too, is made clearer given the distance of linear time.

I am only bringing this up in anticipation of those who would want to cling to these "ghosts" because they do not see, more, they do not choose to see their actions for what they were.

I remember when Justice Thomas called the partisan review of his qualifications to be a Supreme Court Justice, a "high-tech lynching". Well, we had the same kind of mob mentality occur here, led by a Kabal of close-knit charismatic creeps who served as messiah images for others who scooted right along with their program when told to do so.

That is what I see from this distance, and what I see every time one of their nym pops up on my monitor.

It is not what primarily motivates me to ask for the expunging of their trash they left behind. I simply want to make this place ours, and continue to upgrade the premises in order to attract new, good people, which I know we can and will do.

I believe cleaning out the "old ghosts" is a necessity if we are to develop our own group identity, so I am choosing to get it in the open at the onset of this discussion.

I hold no malice towards those who perpetrated the "high tech lynching" with malice aforethought, which occurred here. I wish them well and hope they thrive in the hole they created. However, I will be ever on guard against their return, now that I have seen the common darkness in their hearts. To some, this may look like malice on my part, but I assure it is not. "Fool me once, shame on thee; fool me twice, shame on me."

Many of you know that my favorite credo is from Kong Fu Tze (Confucius): "Things which accord in tone, vibrate together; things which are alike in their innermost natures, seek one another out.". Given this, I can only say: Those who are there, belong together. Those who are here, belong together.

I only wish to further solidify the uniquness of our emergent group identity with this proposal we discuss.

Have you checked your children lately, TDR? There are only four posts there, all put up by a leading member of the Klique that abandoned this place in a show of childish, ego-driven arrogance, and not satisfied with trashing the place, then proceeded to make their first order of business the spewing forth of expletives and character assassinations of those left behind, so as to somehow, in their beady little minds, justify their ridiculous attempts at being hurtful.

The only post of any length is a self-serving post contributed to by the Kadre, Klique, Kabal and their followers, 99.9% of whom are now hole people. Why should we keep a record of who they were and erroneously flattering self-portraits of who they were pretending to be?

THEY ARE ALL GONE, TDR!!!!! THEY TOOK THEIR HISTORY WITH THEM! IT IS NOT THE HISTORY OF THIS GROUP, TDR!

This group began on the night the Kabal and their followers slinked out of town and took up residence in the hole of their chosing. If they want, they can post cheney's crap over there.

It does not belong here. We have to close this thing out and shut the door and get some closure here. We need to clean out the closet, TDR.

Why do you come in here and try to roil things up with "beggiing the question" argument and inflammatory rewriting of what another has posited?

Why aren't you happy over there? You accord with them, why come here?
